Oregon State University: about studying process

Oregon State University was founded in 1868. Today, it is an educational institution, which is part of a small number of higher education institutions with the status of “doctoral / research.” With that, along with the famous Princeton and Yale University, Oregon State University is added to the first, the most authoritative level among research universities.

The university is one of the two higher education institutions in the United States which receive a grant to study “the sun, space, sea and land.” In the ranking of the best universities in the world it takes the 111th place (according to the Shangai Jiaotong University) and the 60th position in the United States (among 4,200 universities).

Location of the University

The University is located in the town of Corvallis, Oregon. It is a mountainous state in the northwest of United States, which is bordered by the Pacific Ocean. The interesting fact is that the town of Springfield in Oregon is the prototype of Springfield where heroes of Simpsons TV series lived. In Oregon there is a fine slogan that speaks for itself – “Fly on your own wings.” It is an independent, self-sufficient state with highly developed woodworking industry, agriculture, and the sector of information technology.

  • Language requirements: TOEFL ibt 80+, IELTS 6.5
  • Examination results SAT or ACT
